On Saturday 5th March 2016, Funeral Director Darryll Holloway and Trainee Funeral Director Hollie Wilson hosted a fundraising event, at the Westwood Club in Coventry. The evening was a fundraiser in aid of Northleigh House School, a safe, calm and progressive learning environment for secondary aged children who, mainly as a result of being bullied or perceiving themselves to have been so, cannot study in a large mainstream setting.

The evening was a huge success and thanks to the efforts of all those involved £620 was raised which will be spent on the music department.

The evening comprised of karaoke and disco music, games, food sponsored by Henry Ison & Sons and featured a large raffle, and auction with prizes provided by local businesses. Prizes included, Coventry City Football tickets, a cut and blow dry at a local salon and meals out. There was a door prize of dinner for two at Coombe Abbey Hotel.

School founders Viv and Fred Morgan who attended the event were the recipients of a Special Recognition Pride of Britain Award in 2015.

“What a great evening! I really enjoyed it and all those wonderful people helping us.
As I said it is the biggest event there’s been in aid of Northleigh which is exciting as it’s a first for us too! Thank you so much for all the work you put into it and for your kindness.”

Darryll and Hollie would like to thank Teresa Lees for all her hard work and powers of persuasion obtaining raffle prizes and Maurice Barnett for cooking the food.
